Last weekend was a monumental weekend for me filled with a gambit of emotions. I was excited, nervous, anxious, apprehensive, scared, and even a little sad. What did I do? I sent my book off to the designer. EEK! Now for those of you who don’t know what a designer does for a book (it’s okay, I didn’t know until a few months ago) they are responsible for making the eye-catching cover design—the one that should hopefully scream READ ME!!! to anyone walking past it in the store or scrolling by it online—and they also take the actual heart and soul of the book that has been painstaking toiled over on a computer (or typewriter for the overachievers) and give it a makeover. They read it and try to figure out what font, chapter heading, and scene break will fit with the type of story. As great as Microsoft Word…
